Lady Gaga arrived in a giant egg? Cee Lo Green dressed up like a mutated turkey and performed a duet with Gwyneth Paltrow of his song Forget You? Yawn. Well here’s something interesting for you! Yesterday Christian Rock group Switchfoot walked away with their first Grammy award for their latest and seventh studio album, Hello Hurricane.
Switchfoot has been nominated in the past, first in 2001, but this is the first time that they have won, in the Best Rock/Rap Gospel Album of the Year category. Frontman for the group Jon Foreman stated “I’m just blown away and really thankful to make music my life, for my best friends over here and our families at home, who let us make music for a living” with fellow his band members at his side.
Competing for the title were groups Fireflight with their album “For Those Who Wait,” David Crowder Band with “Church Music,” Gungor with “Beautiful Things,” and Lecrae with his album “Overdose.” Switchfoot managed to climb their way to the top though and pulled out a win.
Currently the band is getting ready for its next album release, which will be arriving sometime in the summer of this year. Until then, you can buy their winning album Hello Hurricane right here: Hello Hurricane or you could buy the Hello Hurricane Deluxe Version.
Congratulations to Switchfoot on their big win, they definitely deserved it!
